Drury Internship Expectations
At Drury Hotels, we created our Internship Program to cater to the curriculum of most Hotel Restaurant Management Programs. The program is designed to accommodate student’s credit needs and flexible schedules. Students will be given a description of the career pathway, detailing the academic areas that are covered. Our Internship offers students the opportunity to gain the experience and professionalism needed to advance to a higher-level position.
Our twelve-week paid Internship Program is a great way for students to “get their foot in the door.” Students will start with the interviewing process. After hire, each Intern will be assigned a Mentor who will lead them through training, where they will rotate through all the departments in the hotel, focusing on the Front Desk and shadowing Management and Sales. An evaluation summarizing the Intern’s performance will be written at the completion of the twelve weeks, and forwarded to the University’s Program Coordinator.

As an Intern, students will gain a realistic perspective of the working world in the hospitality field, which will help them make the right career choice. They will earn money while in school, doing work related to their field and gaining career experience. The on-the-job training students receive while learning the “Drury Way” as an Intern can help them find future employment.
The students introduce fresh perspectives to team members at our hotels, stimulating creative problem solving and assisting with special projects. We believe our Internship Program will help us build strong relationships with colleges and universities in the cities where we have Drury Hotels.
